Production Spotlight: Christmas at the Henry’s – Soundtrack

Jump To These Sections

Chevon Corlew-Coleman had been building toward this for a long time.

She is a vocalist and songwriter based in Crestview. She and her husband Isaac had been putting together Christmas productions in Okaloosa County for years, starting small and growing each time. By 2023 they were ready to take Christmas at the Henry’s to the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College. A real theater. A real stage.

The production needed a full soundtrack to match.

This was not a single song project. Chevon had written original material for a full theatrical show built around a family, their faith, their humor, and the holidays. The music had to carry all of it. It also had to work live in a theater and still hold up as a recording someone could take home.

The role on this project covered musical direction, arrangements, vocal sessions, stems for live performance, mixing, and mastering. The Christmas medley needed scale. Background vocals stacked in layers, orchestral elements alongside live instrumentation, everything balanced so the sound could fill the room.

One audience member wrote afterward that the songs moved seamlessly between entertainment and worship. That he found himself torn between cheering and worshipping throughout the night and could not always tell which one he was doing.

The soundtrack from Christmas at the Henry’s is available to purchase.

If you are working on a production or ministry project at this scale, this is what that process looks like.
